Construcciones Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles (CAF)

Construcciones Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles (CAF) is an international market leader in the design, manufacture, maintenance and supply of equipment and components for railway systems. CAF is a Spanish public company established in 1860 based in Beasain in the Basque Country. Equipment manufactured by CAF includes light rail vehicles, rapid transit trains, railroad cars and locomotives, as well as variable gauge axles that can be fitted on any existing truck or bogie. CAF trains are currently operated in Spain, France, Asia, South America, New Zealand and Europe.

ARC through its operation arm MRS has a successful relationship with CAF, where they have successfully won the first high speed passenger train sets supplied to the Saudi Railway Organization (SRO) where 12 passenger train sets were purchased and they are currently under operation for Riyadh-Dammam route, also CAF trains were selected by the Saudi Railway Company (SAR) for their north-south network.

MRS was awarded the operation contract for all SRO trains provided by CAF and currently MRS train drivers are operating the trains on a daily bases, in addition MRS has been awarded a maintenance contract for CAF trains and our maintenance staff are working closely with CAF maintenance staff to perform all maintenance activities.
